Hola! π«
Iβm Marina, a UX researcher based in East London.
My interdisciplinary background combines my passion for research and design with my drive to understand user behaviour and technology. Having completed my MSc in Human-Computer Interaction at UCL with a βLa Caixaβ Foundation Fellowship, I am experienced in impact-focused qualitative research methods, ideation and design thinking techniques and software.
Iβm currently exploring AR at Reality Labs, Meta.
Background
Remote π» 2020 - Present
In Summer 2020, I joined Reality Labs (Meta) at the London office as a UX research intern, where I conducted a research project in Spark AR and learnt about impact-focused industry research, usability testing, effective communication and collaboration, and working with stakeholders. I joined Reality Labs full time in March 2021.
London π¬π§ 2018 - 2020
Thanks to a La Caixa Foundation fellowship, I completed the MSc Human-Computer Interaction at UCL and started an MPhil in HCI, focusing on creativity support tools. I learnt about observational experiments, diary studies, cultural probes, interaction design and published and presented my dissertation at CHI 2020.
Singapore πΈπ¬ 2017
I spent a semester at the National University of Singapore, where I first learnt about Human-Computer Interaction, explored Southeast Asia and took up Mandarin! This led me to later join the Interaction Design Foundation and complete courses in Design Thinking, User Research and User-Centered Design.
The Netherlands π³π± 2015 - 2018
During my undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Utrecht University, I understood the value of an interdisciplinary education. Majoring in Anthropology, Computer Science and Psychology, I got to learn programming in Java, statistics, writing, interviewing, ethnographic methods and cultural studies theory.
Madrid & Berlin πͺπΈ π©πͺ 2013 - 2015
I completed three semesters of Architecture at ETSAM Madrid, after which I decided to move to Berlin and start a new career path. During that time I learnt about art history, graphic design, architectural engineering, user-centred design, drawing and ideation, and I took my first coding course while improving my German.
